Another special film. And all of a sudden it makes me a Bob Dylan fan.
The film is basically about the various stages and aspects of life of American singer-songwriter
Bob Dylan. It mixes some fiction rather than pure biography, and uses six different characters to imply Bob Dylan's constantly changing and fast paced life. The inter-cutting story lines made me lost for a while but it's all good for each little stories, though there are some strange scenes. Needless to say the casting is kinda 'Dreamteam', there's my favourite of all-time Christian Bale, and the late Heath Ledger delivered another epic performance, not to mention Cate Blanchett who plays a male character. I guess i loved it because it's so full of philosophy of life, and Bob Dylan's songs throughout the film are amazing.
Favourite line :
(referring to Dylan) There he lies. God rest his soul, and his rudeness. A devouring public can now share the remains of his sickness, and his phone numbers. There he lay: poet, prophet, outlaw, fake, star of electricity. Nailed by a peeping tom, who would soon discover...
A poem is like a naked person...even the ghost was more than one person...but a song is something that walks by itself.
